Meet Our Board of Directors
Pauline Fox, Board President
Pauline has served on the Board the past three years and as vice president this past year and wishes to continue her volunteer work serving the center. She has served on several committees and has been very active with the operation of the Circuit Training Room and serves as a trip escort. She is a graduate of lake Michigan college, has experience working at the social security administration, curves (adult exercise program) and was an advertising agent at a local real estate company. Her past history and her prior experience on the board gives her the qualifications to continue to be a major contributor and volunteer to the future growth of this senior center.
Tim Kragt, Vice President
Tim was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1973. He is a 1969 graduate of Hope College and earned a law degree, with honors, at Wayne State University. For 35 years, Tim focused his personal injury practice in the areas of worker’s compensation and Social Security Disability claims. He has been active in civic and community affairs, having served as a director and President of the YMCA as well as being a member of the Elks Club, Exchange Club, Boy Scout Leadership Team and a youth mentor in the Y Uncle program. Currently Tim volunteers for the VA, Hospice and the Senior Center where his is a volunteer driver and a member of the Board of Directors serving on the personnel and building committees.
Bob Hopkins, Treasurer
Bob’s background consists of a BS in accounting and computer science and has contributed to the operation of the senior center by his expertise in these areas. Bob is on the finance and personnel committees in addition to the ad/hoc/by-laws update committee. He volunteers by purchasing prizes and calling bingo. After being off for one year due to term limits, he wishes to continue serving on the board of directors.
Patty Nordberg, Secretary
Patty’s education consists of a Bachelors and Masters degree from Kent State and Michigan State University, respectively. She has served as a teacher in Ohio and at the Lakeshore Public Schools. Patty is very active in volunteer work and is a member of several local organizations, including Lory’s Place, Krasl Silver Beach Carousel, First Congregational UCC and Delta Kappa Gamma. Patty has served as secretary for several organizations and is currently President at Delta Kappa Gamma.
Celina Bevelhymer, Director
Celina’s education consists of a BA in business administration and has worked at several companies during her career, including GE Capital, Transamerica, Whirlpool Financial and Sears. She is a member of several local organizations and volunteers at many of them including fundraising and Treasurer of the Shoreline Garden Club, as well as projects here at the Senior Center.
Bill Burrows, Director
Bill’s Professional experience includes Chemical Bank, Plastic Masters and the James River Corp. working on collections and sales. He is a member of the American Legion in Stevensville, and is active in community work and church fellowship. Bill drives the van for our Center and serves as a Center trip escort.
Mark Johnson, Director
Mark is a graduate of Purdue University with a B.A. degree in political science. He was a newspaper reporter and editor for 35 years, his last position as managing editor at LaPorte Herald-Argus in Indiana. After retirement he has been a substitute teacher at Lakeshore and St. Joseph High Schools and a driver education instructor. He has served on a number of journalism and community advisory boards, including LaPorte Family YMCA board of directors. He currently is a member and chairman of the Public Advisory Committee, Berrien Bus. Mark enjoys getting to know Senior Center members as a van driver for the Center for the last 7 years.
Jean Oatman, Director
Jean’s education consists of an Associate Degree from Kalamazoo Valley Community College. Her professional career consists of working in Credit & Collections at The Upjohn Company, a Customer Service Advisor in a bank, an Advertising Manager at a newspaper and the Executive Director at Tecumseh Area Chamber of Commerce. Currently Jean is a Circuit Training Room Monitor here at the Center. She had many previous volunteering positions working with the Girl Scouts, Church Committees, Band Boosters.
Rocco Pavese, Director
Rocco is educated in Physical Therapy, he has been leading physical fitness programs at the Center for many years through Lakeland Regional Physical Therapy. Rocco is committed to support the mission of the Center and to continue building the Center’s fitness programs. He will contribute diverse knowledge to our members regarding senior health and fitness.
Ted Post, Director
Ted has associate degrees in business and criminal justice and his career consists of serving on the bridgman and st. Joseph police departments. He is a member of the first church of god, a camera club and the berrien county 911 board. He has experience with fundraising, community relations, program development and budget management. During the past year he has been a van driver and invovled in various activities at the center. Ted also feels he can be a contributing member of the board of directors.
Jerry Radenbaugh, Director
Jerry has a BS and Master’s degree. He retired from Whirlpool Corporation after 33 years, served three years as a high school teacher and coach, and has spent eight years as Controller of two local organizations. Jerry is and has been a member of several local organizations. Jerry’s expertise in finance, audit and planning will continue to be extremely useful while serving another term on our Board.
