Welcome to the Senior Center!
We provide safe, friendly & positive social, education & recreational services to enhance independence & well being of seniors.
The St. Joseph-Lincoln Senior Center is open to all citizens age 60 and older. We offer a wide variety of daily activities, including exercise classes, various group card games and other fun games like Left, Center, Right once a month, Bingo twice a month and much more! We also provide a transportation service as well as the option of a daily lunch, provided by Senior Nutrition Services.
Many changes are coming to our Center. First change we hope to see is sunshine and flowers. After that we are looking to the parking lot expansion and the backyard renovations to get started. So far we only have evidence of a plan, with all the survey markers around the property. But trust me Abonmarche Engineering is hard at work on a site plan.
The entire project has been named the “Senior Outdoor Fitness Zone.’ That entails the parking lot expansion of an additional 100 spaces; a new entrance on the east side enabling easier access from our new parking area and doubling the disabled parking available; 1/5th mile walking trail, 12-piece outdoor exercise area and larger raised garden beds. All in all, a thrilling new venture for our Center.
Several of you have already donated to the parking expansion fund, we can never say Thank You often enough. Obviously this project comes with quite a price tag. The benefits to our Senior Community make the effort on all of our parts, worthwhile. Currently, our board members are working on grant proposals and presentations, together with making visits to potential major donors. Soon you will see a signboard in our front hall tracking our progress to the goal of $250,000.The number is big but every donation counts. For example, 1 foot of walking trail costs $15 or a parking space about $2000, putting in perspective any donation, any size counts. For larger donors who like to join one of our higher donor levels please contact Board President Rick Freridge or Center, Executive Director Cindi McLaughlin.
Bronze Level$1000 + Donations
Silver Level $2500+ Donations
Gold Level$5000+ Donations
Benefactors of these levels will be commemorated with a plaque in the Senior Outdoor Fitness Zone.
